My Roots

Hi y’all! My name is Cassie Avant, and I am a lover of all things food, health, and wellness. Growing up in a small town (Deepstep, GA) , I spent a great deal of time in the kitchen with my mom and grandmother where they taught me the art of making biscuits, canning jelly, shelling peas, shucking corn, and the basics to be a good home cook. This is exactly where my love of cooking began, even though it wasn’t until years later that I started to recognize my own passions in the kitchen. I was taught that cooking doesn’t have to be complicated, simple is best, fresh whole food ingredients matter, and that stands true today. Food is meant to nourish & fuel out bodies and that’s exactly what I want to do at RFC.
